Welcome to Ambergris Vacation of San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, your one stop for booking trips and excursions while on the island. At Ambergris Vacation we offer a wide range of activities from diving, snorkeling and fishing to mainland excursions in Belize and Guatemala, using only the most reputable operators and guides. You pay no extra fees or charges for our services. Simply contact us with the dates and excursions you wish to experience along with the names of the individuals in your party and we do the rest. We will make the required reservations and provide you schedules and departure information.

REEF SNORKELING

Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley

First stop is Hol Chan where visitors will enjoy an abundance of sea life and coral gardens. Swim with rays, yellow tails, parrotfish, grouper, snapper and countless other varieties of colorful fish. You may also enjoy an encounter with a moray eel. Sea fans, brain coral, iridescent sponges and other formations will make it hard to get back in the boat. Next, it’s on to Shark Ray Alley where snorkelers will touch and pet nurse sharks and stingrays. Once again the marine life and coral formations will take your breath away.

Mexico Rocks

Mexico Rocks lies just north of San Pedro in clear, vibrant blue waters. Here you’ll see barracuda, horse eyed jacks, grouper, sand sharks and thousands of tiny neon colored fish. Swim through over 30 types of corals including brain and elkhorn corals.

Snorkel and Beach Picnic

Snorkel Mexico Rocks, Tres Cocos and another site chosen by your guide. Add a little fishing and a picnic with seafood prepared right on the beach by your guide and it’s another fantastic day on the waters of the Caribbean .

REEF DIVING

Although just minutes from the docks of Ambergris Caye, local dives offer spectacular views with seemingly unending visibility. Grove canyons, tunnels and wrecks are explored with companions in the form of eagle rays, dolphins, turtles and scores of tropical neon fish. Colorful sponges, sea fans and an array of coral formations highlight your adventure.

OFFSHORE DIVING & SNORKELING

Blue Hole Day Tour

This 410′ deep, 1000′ circular reef was made famous throughout the diving world in 1970 when it was explored by Jacques Cousteau for a documentary. Snorkelers explore the crest of the reef to find a world of vivid colors in sea fans, coral, sponges, and many varieties of tropical fish. Divers plunge into the hole and experience awe inspiring stalagmites and stalactites, some 40′ long and 6′ thick. Massive caverns line the walls as divers enter into the abyss. Next stop is Half Moon Caye for an encounter with eagle rays, manta rays, groupers, eels and a variety of other marine life not found on the reefs. Then it’s a picnic lunch and relaxation on the beach before heading to Booby Bird Sanctuary and your final dive at the Aquarium.

Turneffe Atoll Day Tour

Three dive sites await you at the atoll, including the famous Elbow. Here you may encounter bull and hammerhead sharks, as well as majestic eagle rays, loggerhead turtles, grouper, jacks and a variety of other tropical fish. The atoll offers the ultimate in wall diving with an abundance of soft coral and huge sponges. Between dives, relax on one of the cayes for a beach picnic.

FISHING

Ambergris Caye offers some of the best fishing found anywhere in the world. Flat fishing allows anglers to test their skills in pursuit of bonefish, permit and tarpon. Catch dinner while fishing the reef for edible fish including, snapper, jacks, grouper, or maybe a barracuda. Head offshore in search of that trophy kingfish, wahoo, tuna, sailfish or blue marlin.

CATAMARAN TRIPS

Caye Caulker Day Cruise

Start the day by sailing to Hol Chan for your first snorkeling stop. Then it’s off to the island of Caye Caulker for lunch and a couple of hours to shop and enjoy the slow paced, sandy streets. On the way back to San Pedro you snorkel again at Shark Ray Alley. Drop a line and fish along the way.

Mexico Rocks

Sail north for some incredible snorkeling and catch your lunch along the way. Then relax or explore the beach while your guide prepares a beach BBQ. Set sail again for one more snorkel stop before returning to San Pedro.

Sunset Cruise

Sit back and relax as you sail south to Congrejo Caye to anchor and sip rum punch as you witness a spectacular Caribbean sunset. Then head back under a blanket of stars.

Manatee Watch and Snorkel Excursion

Sail south among the many cayes that dot the coast of Belize . At Swallow Caye you’ll have the opportunity to view the endangered West Indian Manatee in its natural habitat. At Goff’s Caye walk out to the reef and snorkel while your guide prepares a delicious beach BBQ. Then more snorkeling with sharks and rays before stopping in Caye Caulker on your way back.

MAINLAND EXCURSIONS

Lamanai Jungle River Adventure

Begin your day with a delightful breakfast as you wind your way through the Northern River to Bomba Village . A private bus will then take you to Tower Hill where you begin the journey down the New River to Lamanai. Along the way you will encounter a variety of wildlife such as birds, bats, monkeys, and crocodiles. After lunch in the pristine rain forest that surrounds the ancient Capital of Lamanai tour the ancient ruins that date back to 1500 BC. As you follow the paths to various temples you will view and hear the howler monkeys as they welcome you to the rainforest.

Altun Ha Jungle River Adventure

Your day begins winding through the Northern River where you encounter a variety of flora and fauna and indigenous animals in their natural habitat. At Bomba Village you board a private bus that will take you through several quaint villages as you make your way to the ruins of Altun Ha. After a guided tour of the ancient Mayan ruins it’s off to the jungle spa of Maruba for an exotic lunch. After lunch enjoy a dip in the pool, horseback riding, or a relaxing massage.

Altun Ha Jungle Safari

Spend the morning on the lush Belize River where you will see howler monkeys, crocodiles and most likely dolphins and manatees. This river trip culminates at the ruins of Altun Ha where you can enjoy the panorama of miles of untouched jungle from the top of a Mayan temple. Your return trip takes you through the Baboon Sanctuary where wild baboons entertain you with their howls.

Cave Tubing and Belize Zoo

Head for the mainland and up the Belize River where you will encounter crocodiles, monkeys, manatees and other indigenous wildlife. Then you will board a private bus that will take you to the Belize Zoo where you will see tapirs, toucans, jaguars, macaws and more wildlife from the jungles of Belize . Then it’s off to Jaguar Paw Jungle Lodge for a 40 minute light hike through the jungle to the caves. Put on your headlamp, splash into the cool waters and tube through the crystal cave systems where the Mayans once worshipped.

Cave Tubing and Aerial Zip Line

Take a short flight to the mainland where your guide will take you to Jaguar Paw Jungle Lodge for a 40 minute light hike through the jungle to the caves. Put on your headlamp, splash into the cool waters and tube through the crystal cave systems where the Mayans once worshipped. Once back at Jaguar Paw you fly through and over the jungle canopy on a series of cables attached to eight platforms. A truly incredible experience.
